The story

Four companies, two acquisitions, one thread: automation — from early cloud software for government to a manufacturing platform running a hundred million orders a year, to systems now built with AI in days, not quarters.

Chapter I

Aspiren — the cloud, early

Founded one of the earliest cloud SaaS platforms for government — before "cloud" was the word for it. Deployed across 450 UK local authorities, then acquired.

Founded → Acquired
Chapter II

OneFlow & Site Flow — manufacturing at planet scale

Founded OneFlow Systems and created Site Flow: a global platform automating end-to-end production of personalised printed products — over 100 million orders a year. The work earned an exclusive global partnership with HP Inc., and ultimately, acquisition.

Founded → Acquired by HP Inc.
Chapter III

HP & Found.us — incubate, build, spin out

Led product strategy and new-business incubation at HP. Founded found.us — a creator-monetisation platform turning social content into physical products on a waste-free, on-demand model — built it past £2M in revenue and spun it out into private ownership, staying on as strategic advisor.

Now

The portfolio era — founder, owner, advisor

Watson Hillwood for trading and investment. Watson Evans Art for collections worth passing on. Advisory seats at Investa and Codex. And AI as the force-multiplier across all of it.

Building → Backing → Advising
"AI lets me move from idea to working system at a pace that used to take a full team."
— The operating principle
03

Built with AI

Not AI commentary — AI as a daily building tool. Designing and shipping end-to-end systems: workflows, data pipelines, internal tooling and trading automation, built hands-on and running in production.

CASE / 01

Trading automation at Watson Hillwood

Problem
Active options trading demands constant analysis, discipline and speed — beyond what one person can do manually.
Built
AI-driven systems around the derivatives strategy: market analysis, position monitoring and execution workflows, automated end to end.
Outcome
A one-person trading operation running with the tooling of a desk.
CASE / 02

Data pipelines, stood up in days

Problem
Every venture needs data infrastructure; traditionally that means engineers, sprints and months.
Built
AI-assisted pipelines that ingest, clean and serve data across the portfolio — market data, business ops, reporting.
Outcome
From requirement to running pipeline in days — no team required.
CASE / 03

Internal tooling & operations

Problem
A portfolio of businesses generates operational drag: admin, reporting, client workflows, repetition.
Built
End-to-end automated workflows and bespoke internal tools across the ventures — designed, built and deployed with AI.
Outcome
Operations that scale without headcount.
CASE / 04

Prototyping at founder speed

Problem
Ideas die waiting for build capacity. Advisory clients need proof, not decks.
Built
Working prototypes of products and systems, from concept to demo, using AI as the build team.
Outcome
Decisions made on working software — and advice grounded in shipping, not theory.
